Legacy Of Warcraft

Even Your Mother Knows About WarCraft.

It is to PC games as Coca Cola is to soft drinks. A brand so powerful, anything minted under it's moniker is assured to break records in terms of profits.

But do you remember the old games? I got nostalgic with the upcoming WoW expansion, Wrath Of The Lich King and look what I found in a frenzied search through my video game collection.

Warcraft I – Orcs & Humans

This ancient artifact from the DOS era was pressed in 1994. If you are lucky enough to still have a copy your probably wondering how to get it to work properly on Windows XP. You could rely on the native emulation but I have had better results using the DOSBox emulator. Believe it or not the graphics used to be cutting edge back in the day when computers used to be powered by coal.

Warcraft II – Tides Of Darkness

Released with slightly better graphics the 2nd iteration of the series makes a few tweaks which help make the game easier to play. Also a new resource is introduced along with flying and naval units.

War Craft III Reign Of Chaos, Just A Booster For World Of Warcraft?

Perhaps a more compelling question would be. Does it even matter? Blizzard sold out RTS gamers whith this release and the introduction of RPG elements. While entertaining in it's own right, It did more to boost Warcraft Online, than scratch the itch left by War Craft II. However It does work on XP.
